  • 2 tablespoons of organic greek yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon besan

Mix all the ingredients together into a paste. Apply it onto your face and let it stay on for about 15-20 minutes before washing it off with cold water. Easy, peasy!

Turmeric & Besan

Known for their ability to help your skin rid impurities and bacteria, besan and turmeric powder would be the second combination on our list of home remedies to rid clogged and enlarged pores. Besan is a wonderful ingredient that helps absorb all the impurities that clog your pores and leave your skin feeling lighter. With the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of turmeric, this mask can help even out your skin tone, moisturise your skin and shrink those pores in a jiffy! To make the mask, you will need:

  • 2-3 drops olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon of Besan flour
  • A pinch of turmeric powder

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl till they are thoroughly mixed. Pop the mixture in your refrigerator and ensure it is covered for approximately 15-20 minutes to chill. On a clean face, apply the pack on your face or those areas of concern, paying special attention to avoid your eyes and lips. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse off with room temperature water. Follow up by running an ice cube all over your face and slather on your moisturiser. Add this mask session into your skincare routine with a twice a week schedule and watch your pores tighten.

Cucumber & Rose Water

If this combination sounds like a refreshing drink that you can have on a hot summer day by the pool to keep you hydrated, you bet that it can do the same for your skin. Rose water has astringent properties to tighten your pores and fade fine lines while cucumber, on the other hand, is loaded with vitamin-E and natural oils that are effective in hydrating and nourishing your skin. To make this refreshing mask, all you will need is:

  • 1 tablespoon of fresh cucumber puree
  • 1 tablespoon of rose water
  • 2 tablespoons of raw brown sugar

Mix the cucumber puree and rose water in a vessel. Next, stir in the brown sugar till they are well combined. Apply the mask onto your face and avoid your eye area and do not rub the mask into your skin as it may cause abrasion. Leave the mask on for 12-15 minutes and rinse off with cold water. Pat dry and apply toner and moisturiser after.

If you enjoy this mask and love to have it on every night, multiply the recipe and make a larger batch. Store it in an airtight container and make a fresh batch every 2-3 days. Remember to store your pre-made masks in the refrigerator to ensure freshness of the pack!

Pairing it with rose water, which has astringent properties to reduce the appearance of fine lines and minimise your pores alongside the benefit of balancing the pH levels of your skin, this quick and easy mask is not only great for shrinking and cleaning pesky pores, it is also an amazing scrub that is gentle for daily use.
