Other external factors that could accelerate ageing in a person’s skin also includes the consumption of alcohol, disease, smoking, and use of drugs. In fact, the way you sleep can also play a major role here. In this case, people who are more inclined to sleeping with their face pressed against the surface of their pillow are usually more likely to look older than they are. In such cases, people who splurge more on pillow cases made from smoother, breathable material such as silk may be able to slow down ageing in their skin.
Additionally, people who are usually more careful about their diet may also look younger than their peers. Foods that are rich in vitamin C, for example, are known to promote healthy production of collagen, a protein glue that affects the suppleness of our skin.
Clothes Can Make A Difference
The way a person dresses can also greatly affect how young they look — and it’s not just about dressing as young as possible or staying on trend, either. A 30-year-old man can’t just put on a snapback and expect himself to de-age by about a decade. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way; instead, it’s more a matter of how flattering their outfit is.
For instance, women who confine their wardrobe to unflattering neutrals every single day may give some people the impression that they’re older than they really are. That doesn’t necessarily mean that older-looking women need to toss all their neutral outfits out, though. It all depends on your own individual skin tone, which can range from cool to warm to true neutral.
